VOX AC30CH 30W Custom Amplifier Head for Electric Guitars
The VOX AC30CH is an amplifier head designed for electric guitars
and provides that classic British tone used from everyone from the
Beatles to Radiohead. With a full tube complement including 4 EL84 power
tubes, the AC30 operates at 30W and is capable of achieving bell-like,
chiming timbres or lively, creamy overdrives.
Yes, some variation of the VOX AC30 has been out for a while, so what
makes this iteration of the product different? One key answer to this
question would be the Reactive Attenuator, available on the rear of the
unit. It allows you to achieve the exact tone you want out of any
corresponding cabinet—even at the low levels necessary for playing in
domiciles or small venues. It effectively reduces the wattage, giving
you the ability to attain that creamy, overdriven sound regardless of
the spatial situation.
The amplifier provides two channels, one of which offers controls for
volume, treble, and bass. Both channels feed the tremolo, reverb, and
master section; this master section gives you a tone cut knob for
overall timbre shaping, and a master volume controller. Each channel is
fed by two 1/4" instrument jacks, one for low-level guitars and the
other for higher-outputting axes, such as those with active pickups.
The AC30CH head sports two 1/4" speaker jacks, as well as a switchable
effects loop and an input for the separately available VFS2 footswitch.
You can select between 8 and 16 Ohms to meet the needs of numerous
cabinets.
